Easy Ways to Find Names of Cell Phone Numbers

Do you need to find names of cell phone numbers? If so, there are quick and simple ways to do this. Maybe you're on the receiving end of prank calls. Or perhaps you came across a cell phone number in your address book and don't know who it belongs to. All you need to find out the owner of a cell phone number is a computer with Internet access. There are two free methods of locating this information that we'll discuss first.

The first no-cost method involves performing a Google search. Just by entering the number into the Google search box, you might just be able to find the name and/or address of the owner. This is because some people include their cell numbers in online ads without even thinking about anyone tracking them down. Of course, this doesn't always work. Before giving up, try to enter the number in different formats, like with periods instead of dashes or with no punctuation at all. If you can't find anything, you'll need to try the next method.

The second way to find the owner of a cell phone free of charge is to use a reverse lookup directory. There are a countless number of them on the web. These directories lure customers in with the free searches then try to upsell them the paid searches. Often, the free searches are all you need. Just input the cell phone number into a reverse cell phone lookup box and click Submit. If there is any information tied to that number, it will display.

There are other ways to find names of cell phone numbers, but they'll cost you. You can hire an online investigator to find the information for you. Or, you could join a professional grade database for a monthly or annual fee and try to track down the info that way. There is one more way, that doesn't cost you anything but is a bit tricky. You could go to a public pay phone and call the cell phone number. If you can come up with a good motive for calling, you can often at least get the name of the person. Often this is enough to report someone for harassing phone calls, or enough to track down the remainder of the information such as physical and/or email address.
