This gives your business an air of professionalism and offers customers an easy, free way to contact you. You'd be surprised how many people will avoid calling a long distance number. If your business doesn't have its own toll-free number, you could be losing money. It's easy and affordable to get a toll free number, even if you operate your business from home.
When customers call your toll-free number, you are the one who pays for the call. Rates can definitely vary from provider to provider. For example, your local telephone company probably offers toll free numbers but they may not be as cheap as other providers that you can find on the Internet. The calls you receive are billed per minute, and can cost as little as five cents per minute to as much as twenty five cents per minute.
There are plenty of benefits to having a toll-free number, no matter how small your business is. For example, you can set your toll-free number to have a different ring than your normal telephone number. That way, you know right away if you are getting a business call or personal call. It's affordable to have a toll-free number, because you only pay when you receive calls. If you don't get calls, of course you don't pay. There may be a small monthly service charge, however, depending on the policies of the provider you choose.
One fun way to make the most of your toll free number is to have it spell out your company name or something related to your company. This makes your company and the number memorable. For example, your number could be 1-800-Pizza-Guy if you have a pizza delivery service. Your provider can let you know if the certain number you want is available or not.
Toll free business phone numbers have lots of advantages and very few disadvantages. Therefore, if you are a small or home business owner, it is a very good idea to have a toll free number.
